June 2002

The release date for Jimi's new album Higher Planes is set for September 20. Once again it will be something different, ranging from jazz and big band pieces to psychedelic rock and some serious funk. Higher Planes is released on Kitty-Yo records.

Live dates for June include the opening concert at Lausanne Underground Film Festival (Jun 5), Voxxx 10 year party in Chemnitz, Germany (Jun 15), Moon In June festival, Umbertide, Italy (Jun 21) and Danube Island Festival in Vienna (Jun 22).

The Lausanne show is a solo gig, others are with band. Chemnitz sees Jimi on stage with Pascal Glanville (bass), Jukka Eskola (trumpet), Juha Kortehisto (trombone), Simon Pearson (drums) and Chris Dawkins (guitar). The line-up for Umbertide and Vienna is the the same but with Ape Anttila on bass and Mikko Hassinen on drums.
